well well well.....the first official FriendFest, on Friday August the 22nd this year, was a soakin success! This was also the first official event at the sauna house with the North SEA music community and allies. We have collectively decided this layout will become a yearly tradition. Centered around a novel 70-foot DIY slip n slide (shout out to Danny for the ingenuity on that one), partygoers enjoyed potluck bites such as caprese grinders and deviled eggs, and sipped on everything from (insert Tyler's syrup drink) to strawberry daquiri jello shots [straight outta Montesano!]. Sliders went down head-first, sideways, and in spins while getting incessantly soaked with waterguns as the hilarious mayhem ensued. The PNW weather luckily behaved just well enough to allow for slidin into the night. I had just gotten my garden figured out for this year, as well as finished a big trellis project in time for it. Inside, beer pong got competitive as VCR-taped music videos broadcasted over split CRTs and a premises-wide sound system. In between runs, sliders went to get toasty in the sauna and snack on grapes. This was perfect timing to put on what I hope will be a FriendFest everyone who went to remembers fondly, and looks forward to many more. View some of the action below....
